New graduate students should arrive no later than mid August and check in at the Biomolecular Chemistry office to receive the schedule for the orientation week activities. Most apartment leases begin on August 15 and so most graduate students find it convenient to arrive at least a week before this to find an apartment. Within this timeframe, your first few days on campus can be dedicated to exploring the department/campus/city environs and taking care of the “little” details that enable you to get paid, registered, and housed. To help you hit most of the bases, we have provided a small checklist that generally pertains to many of our students.
